Rogue Panda in Flagstaff?
Some time around 3 a.m. on August 22 someone noticed this sign while driving on Ft. Valley Road in Flagstaff, Arizona. This sign was supposed to tell drivers not to make left hand turns. However, hackers, who broke into the sign systems of Arizona Department of Transportation, felt the message should be more "creative" and definately more "humerous."

Shock- I Agree With the NAACP- On One Item
There is apparently one area where the NAACP and I are in agreement- It is time to end "the War on Drugs."
Now, before you close your browser, I must also add that the NAACP and I agree on the concept, but for entirely different reasons.
My primary reason for believing that the War On Drugs should be ended is that I believe it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL for the Federal Government to regulate drugs. I cite the 10th Amendment to the Constitution:
Can someone PLEASE tell me, WHERE does the Constitution give the Federal Government the right to regulate the practice of medicine or determine what drugs are "have medicinal value" or not. That is the crux of the matter. Each of the several states has a medical board, which governs the licensing of physicians and what constitutes the practice of Medicine in the state.
Of course there will be those that point to "Interstate Commerce," and cite Gonzales v. Raich, 545 US 1. In Raich I must disagree, respectfully, with Justice Scalia and instead agree with the late Chief Justice Rehnquist, Justice O'Connor, and Justice Thomas in their dissents. The Raich case involved a woman who grew and distributed medicinal marijuana legally within the state of California. However, Raich was prosecuted under Federal law. The marijuana NEVER left the state of California- therefore it would seem that interstate commerce did not apply, and therefore this was not a "Federal" issue. This was the opinion of Chief Justice Rehnquist, Justice O'Connor, and Justice Thomas. BREAKING with the CONSERVATIVE side of the court, Justice Scalia sided with the Liberals (and Justice Kennedy) in stating that there was a "chance" that the marijuana "might" cross a state line (it had not, remember) and therefore "Interstate Commerce" applied and therefore the Feds had the right to prosecute. This, I believe, is one of the WORST decisions ever made by The Court. If I go to McDonald's in Blythe, there is a very good possibility that my french fries will cross a state line. Those same french fries would almost CERTAINLY cross the state line between Kansas and Missouri, as there are McDonald's on State Line Road! (As the name implies, State Line Road is on the State Line between Kansas and Missouri in Kansas City). Does that mean that ALL McDonald's should now be Federally regulated, instead of being licensed by the city, county or state?
I am not advocating legalization of drugs. I am however stating that this should be a State issue, and we should let the States make their laws, based on Consent of the Governed, and leave the Fed out of it.

AAA Rating Lost
The Washington Post seems to be "downgrading" the downgrade.
But the question remains, if the big downgrade was going to happen anyway, why did the GOP give in to a less that what we wanted debt deal?
Would "Cut, Cap and Balance" have saved the rating? Who knows. But this we do know for sure- Our Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, Peace Be Upon Him, has now presided over the first credit downgrade in American History. Was this the "change" he was talking about? Or is he just going to blame President George W. Bush again?

30 Years Ago Today- ATC's Fired
It was 30 years ago today- August 5, 1981- that Air Traffic Controllers who did not return to work, forfieted their jobs.
It was this move, by President Ronald Reagan that began the colapse of the Soviet Union. Why? Because the Soviet's saw that if Reagan would fire Air Traffic Controllers, there was nothing he would not do.
To bad we do not have a President like him today.

Poll- God v. Barack Hussien Obama
The political world is full of stupid polls, but this one takes the cake: God’s Approval Rating.
From Newsmax:
The biggest question I have is, “Why only poll registered voters?” I don’t believe that being a registered voter is a requirement to get to heaven- although, Jesus did say to “render to Caesar”- which could be applied to the Civic Duty of Voting, but I digress.
Of course, the most important thing to realize in this poll is that God’s numbers are much higher than Our Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, Peace Be Upon Him—despite the fact that Our Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, Peace Be Upon Him, has been portrayed as the Messiah. Our Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, Peace Be Upon Him, only has a 46% approval and 53% disapproval for the same time period (July 2011).
One must consider that God is running an entire Universe, while Our Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, Peace Be Upon Him, is only [mis]managing one country. Add to that the fact that only God [and George W. Bush] are held responsible for natural disasters, Our Great Leader, Barack Hussein Obama, Peace Be Upon Him, should be doing much better.
From Newsmax:
[Y]ou’ll also have to set aside the rather jaundiced phrasing of the Democratic-leaning [Public Policy Polling] poll’s introduction to its God questions, “If God exists . . . ” not to mention the poll’s reference to God as an “it,” no doubt in a quest for gender neutrality.
With the ground rules established — and let’s just stipulate that the Creator exists, even if PPP won’t — the July 15-17 survey of 928 voters found God receiving:
Q7 If God exists, do you approve or disapprove of
its performance?
Approve .......................................................... 52%
Disapprove...................................................... 9%
Not sure .......................................................... 40%
Q8 If God exists, do you approve or disapprove of
its handling of natural disasters?
Approve .......................................................... 50%
Disapprove...................................................... 13%
Not sure .......................................................... 37%
Q9 If God exists, do you approve or disapprove of
its handling of animals?
Approve .......................................................... 56%
Disapprove...................................................... 11%
Not sure .......................................................... 33%
Q10 If God exists, do you approve or disapprove of
its handling of creating the universe?
Approve .......................................................... 71%
Disapprove...................................................... 5%
Not sure .......................................................... 24%

Guns To Salute the Fallen
The last 14 inch gun from USS Arizona, BB-39 |
Today I received a call from Matt Roberts, Director of Communications & Community Outreach for Ken Bennett, Secretary of State of Arizona.
Matt was able to provide the official website for the project to bring the guns of the USS Arizona and the USS Missouri to Wesley Bolin Plaza in Phoenix. Matt was also kind enough to provide additional photo’s that we will be posting from time to time.
Although the website (http://gunstosalutethefallen.com/) is under construction and is not set up for contributions yet, checks made payable to AZ SOS Salute The Fallen Project can be sent to 1700 W. Washington Street 7th Floor, Phoenix, AZ 85007. We will post an update when the site will be taking contributions.

Guns of the Arizona
14 inch gun from the USS Arizona |
The last of the 14 inch guns from the main turrets of the battleship are currently sitting in a Virginia US Navy salvage yard. The Department of Defense will give the gun to Arizona on indefinite loan, under the condition that the State of Arizona also takes a 16 inch gun which was formerly on the USS Missouri.
The plan is for the guns, weighing 70 tons (from the Arizona) and 140 tons (from the Missouri) to be placed on either side of the anchor from the USS Arizona which is located in Wesley Bolin Plaza at the state capital in Phoenix. Private contributions will be used to bring the guns to Arizona, as well as to clean and remove rust, and mount the guns.
Although the article in the Arizona Republic indicated that the Secretary of State was seeking private contributions, no details were provided on where to send contributions. A call the the Secretary of State’s office was not returned. [See Update: Guns to Salute the Fallen]
Saving these two guns from salvage, and bringing them to Arizona to memorialize the USS Arizona, as well as the end of World War II (with the gun from the Missouri), is a worthwhile cause. The Carden Chronicles will continue to follow this project and will provide updates (including where to send contributions) as they are available.

More "Wet Work" in the Middle East
Another nuclear scientist in Iran, Darioush Rezaie, has been killed. Again, the “scientist” was killed by a pair on a motorcycle in Tehran. Again, this appears to be “wet-work” by the Mossad.
Several “nuclear scientists” from Tehran have been killed over the last few years. Iran blames the US and the “Zionist Regime” (aka Israel) for the hits, but no one has admitted responsibility “on the record.” The German magazine Der Spiegle has claimed that Mossad is behind the deaths of Darioush Rezaie, as well as Masood Ali Mohammadi (January 2010), Majid Schahriari and Feridun Abbasi (November 2010).
It is also believed that Israel (specifically Mossad) may also be behind the Suxnet virus that shutdown the Iranian nuclear [weapons] program in the summer of 2010.

MTV 30th Anniversary
The first few minutes of MTV-- August 1, 1981 12:01 AM. Video may not have "killed the radio star", but the technology that many in the 1980's said would fail, has certainly succeeded.

AP Says MSNBC "Liberal"
It is something we in the general public have known for sometime, but it is nice to see the Main Stream Media finally "get it"-- MSNBC is liberal!
The Associated Press today said that MSNBC has a "liberal tilt."
This really should not suprise anyone (with half a brain) who has paid any attention to the "bias" of the MSM over the last few decades. What was suprising was the actual point of the story-- the [liberal] press is prediciting a 2012 election victory for Our Great Leader, Barak Hussien Obama, peace be upon him, but there was "concern" expressed in the predictions:
If the man who gets "a thrill going up [his] leg" is publically concerned about the re-electability of Our Great Leader, Barak Hussien Obama, peace be upon him, just imagine what they are all saying in private.
The Associated Press today said that MSNBC has a "liberal tilt."
When three MSNBC hosts forecast the winner of next year's presidential race, their choice isn't surprising, considering the network's liberal tilt.
But their respective certainty wasn't uniform when asked that question at an appearance before reporters on Tuesday at a meeting of the Television Critics Association.

"Hardball" host Chris Matthews waffled, saying Obama's fate will rest largely on the economy as well as his GOP rival.
